February 2011
After PETA learned that an annual conference cosponsored by Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMC) and the University of Utah featured a laboratory in which cats purchased from an animal shelter would have hard plastic tubes forced down their delicate windpipes in a cruel training exercise, we launched a campaign to urge the hospital to replace the use of animals with modern and superior simulation methods. More than 25,000 people responded to PETA's call for action by e-mailing and calling PCMC officials and urging them to end the inhumane laboratory. Soon after, PCMC announced that it was halting plans to torment cats and would be switching to human-patient simulators.

In a game of 'we're OK, everyone else is EVIL,' PETA is watching out for these lab cats. Yet, the group and its members have killed thousands of cats and dogs, kittens and puppies they took from unsuspecting rescues and individuals. In many cases the people relinquishing the animals to PETA were told they would go to adoptive homes. This is my invitation to everyone reading this to contact PETA to urge them to end their murders. The killing and the hypocrisy have to end NOW!
